Homelessness and Persons In & Out of Our Prison & Jail Systems
are all of our Problems – HRH is Asking You to be Part of the Solution!

We know there were 6,412 people that were returned to the Indy Metro (8 county) area from Indiana’s Department of Correction last year.  We know there are between 30 and 100 people getting out of our 8 county jail system daily.  We know there are between 4,500 and 7,500 people that are homeless in the Indy Metro area annually, and it is estimated that there is an average of 1,524 people living on the streets of Indy at any given time.  We know there are an untold number of persons without gainful employment that are one paycheck away from being homeless.  Most of them could use and/or need a little help getting back on their feet so they can be productive citizens again.

We also know there are several very good service providers out there that are ready, willing and able to help those in need, but those in need just don’t know where to find all of those existing service providers.  Needless to say, most of them don’t have access to a computer, let alone the Internet.  HRH, with your help, is going to provide the Homeless & ReEntry Industry with an “Information Directory” that will help them solve this problem.  We all know that information is power to the “haves”, but on the other hand, the lack of information for the “have-nots” can be detrimental to their very way of life.  HRH’s NEW Information Directory is the printed version of the information found on HRH’s new Web Site, which consists of over 1,400 organizations (service providers) separated into over 320 topics in 36 categories that offer monies, goods and services to those persons in need who want a better way of life for themselves and their families.

Coming in the Spring of 2010
HRH will distribute 20,000 copies of our Information Directories to:
  l  Homeless Shelters & Homeless & ReEntry Service Providers
  l  Persons in and out of our Prisons, Jails, & Work Release Centers
  l  Parole & Probation Officers, Case Workers, Teachers, Tutors, Mentors
  l  Churches and other Faith & Community Based Organizations
